Nextbook 7.85 Wifi Tablet: Review and Unboxing

December 9, 2015

For my first ever technology related product review, may I present the Nextbook 7.85 Wifi Tablet. This tablet is actually my first ever Lazada haul, so, I will be giving my honest review on this tablet from a US gadget brand that offers affordability, durability and power.

I placed my order last November 20, 2015 and it arrived last November 27, 2015. Lazada is such a promise-keeper! I actually purchased this product because one of my friend convinced me to grab the Buy 1 take 1 promo. After so many days and nights of contemplating, I finally decided to buy it as a reward to myself (instead of a phone. Haha) I bought it for 2,499.50 as the Buy 1 take 1 promo is at 4,999.00 php.

The Nextbook 7.85 Wifi Tablet may not be as famous and remarkable as to Apple, Samsung, Asus and other high-end companies offered, but come on, where can you find an affordable tablet that functions as great as any other tablets out there? The Nextbook 7.85 Wifi Tablet is definitely worth it!

Nextbook 7.85 Wifi Tablet / NEXTBOOK NX785QC8G Specifications:

  • 6GHz quad-core Arm Cortex A9 Rockchip RK3188 processor
  • Mali-400 MP graphics
  • 1GB ram
  • 8GB internal storage expandable via MicroSd up to 64GB
  • 85-inch display 1024 x 768 resolution (160dpi)
  • 2-megapixel rear facing camera
  • VGA front facing camera
  • 4000 mAh rechargeable Li-ion battery
  • Android 4.4.2 KitKat

The design resembles to Apple tablets. So, chick, so Ipad Air. The front face of the tablet displays the 7.85-inch LCD capacitive screen. It doesn’t have any physical buttons but it has onscreen navigation buttons (back, home, and recent apps).

The back of the tablet was made out of plastic. The 2-megapixel rear facing camera is at its usual spot. The logo can be found at the lower left side of the tablet while the speaker can be found at the lower right side of the tablet and almost everything on the tab is top-mounted, the microSD card slot, headphone jack, micro-USB port, microphone, power button, and even the micro-HDMI port, the volume keys, which are just around the right hand corner on the side all are placed properly.

I may not be an expert to this but the tablet is performing well because of its 1.6GHz Quadcore processor. The Nextbook 7.85 Wifi Tablet’s AnTuTu score was 22,538.

To those who don’t know what AnTutu means, (My brother was actually the one introduced this to me months ago)

“AnTuTu is one of the most popular benchmark apps for Android devices. It tests many parts of your device and assigns an overall score.” Source

Basically, it test your android device performance, the number is useful for comparing devices.

It is quite fast, I only experience lag when I immediately exits on a certain application.

I’m not expecting too much with the Tablet’s camera. I bought it knowing that the quality with be low. Anyway, it does take some decent photos, just find the awesome lightings.

I can use it for more or less 9 hours with moderate use but if I’ll be reading manga the whole time, It’ll just take 5 to 6 hours. Charging time is 3-4 hours. Thus, it’s just okay!

Therefore, I can really recommend this tablet if you are looking for a super affordable Tablet with great performance.
